Why is Dental Hygiene Important?
Because your mother said so….
Ok, Ok….in all seriousness, it is a simple way to prevent dental problems and maintain a beautiful smile. Just like changing the oil on your car, proper dental home care and periodic maintenance (cleanings, exams and diagnostic X-rays) will keep your smile healthy.
We try our best to educate our patients and maintain oral health!
Our hygienists truly care about our patients and treat each and every patient as family. We are candid in our conversations. Please know that our goal is for you to maintain optimal dental health, save money and keep your beautiful smile for a lifetime.
Whether you maintain your teeth and are a “healthy prophy” patient or require deeper cleanings, we will assist you in attaining dental health. Our hygienists will show you with an intraoral camera the condition of your gums, teeth and pockets and will recommend the appropriate cleaning to best suit your oral condition.
By talking with you, we will identify improvements and provide comprehensive suggestions to optimize home care and maintain your dental health. We can even show you how to avoid bad breath.
Are your kids going off to college or attend college locally? Schedule a free 15 minute complimentary consultation appointment with our doctor or hygienist and ask for a copy of the “Dental Tricks to Surviving the First Year of College”. It’s time to convert from your pediatric dentist if you have not done so already. Schedule your appointment today for a convenient time over break.
Brush your teeth twice a day with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Consider an electirc toothbrush and waterpik device.
Floss at least once a day. It is recommended that you floss right before going to bed at night.
Eat a balanced diet. Sugary and acidic foods can cause tooth decay and cavities.
Attend your regularly scheduled visits with Dr. Angela Osborn every four to six months.
